The Skeleton Joins the Dance

Picture credit to our dearest Rapha

This post is all about bringing beats that would revive the ones that passed away. By that we are aiming at sharing songs which could grab an intemporal dimension and be appreciated by all. This picture puts forward many contrasts. The pink, symbol of life and cheerfulness, is being associated with the skeleton and the sewer grill. The skeleton represents death and the second could represent a prison cell and a dark road downwards. So cheer up everyone, there's hope and we're bringing it to you!

Another killer single from the Finish duo Maison & Dragen, this time the perfect Progressive House track to boost your mood and dream of summer! Seems like signing for Armada Music just one year ago was a highly successful move as they now enjoy support from some of the biggest DJ names in the world. Also, keep a look out for their new remix of Martin Solveig’s “Night Out” coming out soon!

This second song was produced six months ago by Flight Facilities (from the Future Classics label). After producing the massive Crave You, they came up with this original song with the signature electronic beats but they added a guitar and a great bass line.

From Slovenia with love

Today’s post is dedicated to the Slovenian producer Gramatik, playing under the Pretty Lights record label. Gramatik is famous for combining everything from funk and jazz to soul and blue with raw hip-hop and electro beats. Gramatik’s newest track is called ‘In My City’ and is an updated version of ‘In My Hood’ from his first album in the Street Bangerz series. Dope tune that hits you right in the soul!

Two of our favourite tracks by Philter, a Norwegian producer. His music has been very popular within the extreme sports culture, and used in loads of ski and snowboard movies.

Etta James (January 25, 1938 – January 20, 2012

Etta James has considerably influenced the music world from Blues, Rock and Roll to Jazz. Respect to this trully great artist.

Tyson, london based singer and part of Backyard Recordings (label of Chromeo). With influences such as Prince and mainly Michael Jackson, his great voice is accompanied by amazing electronic beats. We get great energy through these tracks that reflect a real passionate singer. Check out the remixes as well (notably The Magician's remix of After You're Gone)

Have you found it yet?

Today we have prepared some goodies for you. Even though the winter is at its peak we wanted to introduce you to some of our more chilled discoveries.

Pure magic.

Especially we would like to present an up and coming artist from Switzerland.
Cee-roo (picture above) mixes some of the classic tunes, and this in an unbelievable sexy way. Not everyone will like his style, but if you do, be assured you will love all his mixtapes. You will definitely hear more from him on this blog.

Below find an extract from his latest mixtape: Beatz'n Rhymes 5.

The Cookie Jar

VR, quartier Sainte-Marthe, Paris 10e, Stencil Project, 2004, copyright Michel Longhi

The 2000′s marked a revival of street art and stencil art in particular. A small number of actors ensured the Stencil Project that was one of the largest gatherings of French and International stencil artists ever since the 80′s. Here is a selection of pictures from the artist VR, an French artist active in the 80′s who had wanted to make a comeback on that occasion. Tribute to an artist to remember.

I'm Lonely (Larse Remix) - Hollis P. Monroe
You haveprobably all heard the classic ‘I’m Lonely’ from Stickman Records in 1997. Well, here is a great remix released today by german house producer Larse. We feel the original songcompletely keeps its vibe and dimension and that Subb-an, Laura Jones, SIS and Larse respected it and nailed this remix.

LeBatman - Playback (Le Nonsense "Stop The Tape" Edit)
Le Nonsense is a 16-year-old French producer, but looking at the music he’s currently making it seems like he’s been in the business for ages! He reminds us about the French duo Cassius, and we feel really nostalgic of these pure house beats. We love it!

Two extra cookies since we love you:

Gregor Es - Slideland (Addict Djs Remix)
Very progressive track, but we enjoy it!

Winter Drugs

The winter is hitting us hard. We bring you the winter groove, beats that will soothe your throat, warm your body and make you dance. The first tracks are quite progressive, with some quick bpm and big build ups. The next two are deeper and some might say 'chilled'. Earthworks is very special for us and we discovered it during Ellen Allien's (BPitch Records) set on July 4th in brooklyn. Last one is a funky track by Nicholas.
Time for you to listen and give us your opinion.

Sound Remedy- Reach for the Stars

Here are three songs i love at the moment.
I am a big fan of Pretty Lights' songs, and this one is no exception with its chilled dubstep beat. The next song is a progressive house track by an up-and coming Swedish DJ. Last one is a funky remix of Phoenix's Fences.
